Happy adoption stories
Many of our adopters, volunteers, donors and friends send us stories and photos of the animals who give them so much joy. We dedicate this space to all of you whose lives have been changed by animals.

Helga
After adopting a kitten privately recently, we decided he needed a friend. Having had some experience of help through the SPCA we decided to adopt through the shelter.
We went to the first Caturday, and we were really spoiled for choice and really surprised how many kittens needed rehoming. Helga, formerly known as East, really adopted us. She was such a cutie.
She's really settled in fast with our other boy and has the loveliest temperament, and is a welcome addition to our family.
I recommend that everyone looks to adopt from the shelter! Not only are you supporting the valuable work that they do, but $200 is a real bargain when you don't have to worry about desexing and vaccinations. Plus you've got the reassurance that the kitten has been vet checked, is healthy, and is not going to cause your existing cat/animals to get sick. Thank you for the valuable work that you do.
