Volunteer driver - Hokitika Centre
Hokitika Centre
We are looking for reliable volunteer drivers to help with pick up and drop offs of donations, animals, take supplies to foster parents and support the work of the animal care team.
Duties could include:
- Running pick-ups/deliveries as needed
- Collecting donations from supermarkets/other businesses
- Delivering supplies to foster families
- Drop off and pick up of animals to and from the vets
- Helping to transport animals between centres and veterinary partners on an as needed basis
- Ensure a safe work environment in line with the SPCA Health and Safety policies; following all safety guidelines, and modelling safe work practice.
Requirements will include:
- Minimum age: 18 years
- Applicant must possess a full, clean, current NZ driving licence
- Applicant needs to be a safe and courteous driver
- Have a high level of reliability and initiative
- Good written and spoken English skills
- Be able to work independently and cooperatively within a team environment
Able to drive manual and/or automatic vehicles (SPCA vehicles will be used)
We would love to have people dedicated to both regular shifts as well as being on call. Please note, shift times are somewhat flexible depending on the Centre's need on a particular day.

A few things to note:
- You must be at least 15 to volunteer in our Op Shops.
- You must be at least 16 to volunteer at our Centres. If you are younger, please check out our sections on 'Volunteering for Kids', 'Volunteering from Home' or talk to your family about fostering opportunities.
- You may need to provide an up to date Ministry of Justice check during this process, and we'll ask about any medical conditions so we can ensure your safety while volunteering.
