                Volunteer Driver - Christchurch Centre

            We are looking for a reliable volunteer driver to help with pick up and drop offs of donations, sick and injured animals, take supplies to foster parents and support the work of the ambulance drivers at the Centre.
Duties will include:
- Running pick-ups/deliveries as needed
- Collecting donations from supermarkets/other businesses
- Delivering supplies and food parcels to people in the community
- Ensure a safe work environment in line with the SPCA Health and Safety policies; following all safety guidelines, and modelling safe work practice
- Assist admissions staff person with processing incoming animals: help take photos, hold animals, take animals to vet clinic or to units
- Assist reception team: greet members of the public, keep reception area clean and tidy and make adoption packs
Requirements will include:
- Applicants must possess a full, clean, current NZ driving licence
- Applicants need to be a safe and courteous driver, with reasonable knowledge of the Christchurch area
- Have a high level of reliability and initiative
- Good written and spoken English skills
- Applicants need to be physically fit as the work involves frequent bending, reaching, lifting and kneeling.
 
- Be able to work independently and cooperatively within a team environment
We are currently looking for volunteer drivers with flexibility to cover for sickness and help our team on busier days.

A few things to note:
- You must be at least 15 to volunteer in our Op Shops.
- You must be at least 16 to volunteer at our Centres. If you are younger, please check out our sections on 'Volunteering for Kids', 'Volunteering from Home' or talk to your family about fostering opportunities.
- You may need to provide an up to date Ministry of Justice check during this process, and we'll ask about any medical conditions so we can ensure your safety while volunteering.
