Volunteer with usUnlike most SPCAs, Cromwell doesn’t have a physical Centre - but that hasn’t stopped the local team and community from making a big impact.
Every animal that comes into care through Vetlife is lovingly supported through a network of dedicated foster families across Central Otago, or transferred to nearby SPCA Centres (including our operations hub in Wanaka) until they find their forever home.
This community-driven approach ensures that every animal receives the care, attention, and second chance they deserve.

Making desexing accessible to everyone is important to us. Scientific research has proven that a desexed animal lives a happier and healthier life. They are less likely to get into fights, can be more affectionate and friendly, and have a reduced risk of health issues such as cancer. We believe desexing and microchipping is one of the key ways to improve animal welfare.
