Open your home for a short time and help a dog, small or farm animal get ready for their forever home. We support you all the way. Give them a winter worth remembering & sign up to foster.
SPCA's Taupo Centre at Centennial Drive was opened in 2010 and takes care of animals in need throughout the Taupo district 365 days a year. Our staff work hard to ensure animals are given a second chance at the life they deserve, in forever homes.
We also run the Snip and Chip cat desexing campaigns in our community regularly, and sell items such as Purina pet food. cat and kitten adoption packs, toys, leads and collars at our Front of House store.
SPCA has an Op Shop in the Taupo township which is run almost entirely by wonderful volunteers. The Op Shop generates vital funds to finance support for vulnerable animals in our community and beyond.
If you have found a sick or injured animal, contact us immediately on 07 378 4396.
Welfare calls are for cruelty, neglect or abuse of animals. Call centre hours for welfare are 8:30am-5pm, 7 days a week. If an animal is in life-threatening, immediate danger due to cruelty or abuse outside of hours, please dial 111 and request Police assistance.
If you have found a roaming or dangerous dog, please call the Taupo District Council on 07 3760 899.
